On May 10, 2012, Kevin LaComb (President) and Todd Luke (Purchasing Manager) attended the first annual Macomb Manufacturers B2B Networking Event. This event was designed as a type of “meet and greet” platform for manufacturing companies across Macomb County to get to know one another and discuss the services their companies provide. The event had four different tables with five to six individuals per table; in 15 minute intervals, guests introduced themselves and talked a bit about the type of work they are involved in. At the end of each interval, the guests switched tables in a classic “speed dating” format, so that everyone attending had a chance to learn about each other and the company he or she was representing. This event was a great experience for everyone involved. It provided great conversation and the opportunity to make many new connections with fellow manufacturing companies in the Macomb County area. Interestingly, even though everyone was from different companies with vastly different customer bases, we all have the same concerns. We are looking forward to the next event and hope, in the future, to see two to three events per year.
