Our comprehensive & continuous training program includes classroom training, field trips, and extensive on-the-job-training.
All classes are solution-based and derived directly from real-life problems in the shop. The result of all this training is a disciplined work force that consistently produces quality parts.
In our on-site classroom, we average 700 hours of formal education per year. Our employees study instrument reading, machine operation and safety, threading, blueprint reading, and work cell procedures. Internal classroom training begins within the first two weeks of employment. Utilizing an interactive and hands on approach through Power Point presentations, employees are trained in the use of checking instruments, print interpretation, GD&T and machine programming software. We’re well trained in subjects that make a difference on our shop floor including: Interpretation of Engineering Drawings, GD&T, Basic Checking Instruments, Advanced Checking Instruments, and Advanced Programming Techniques.
Outside of the classroom, our senior management team meets every morning to discuss shop floor progress. Senior management also conducts a daily production survey to monitor shop floor activity. Senior management also meets once a week to discuss relevant issues, and share expertise & innovative ideas to solve problems and improve current processes.
In addition, our shop employees attend weekly quality control meetings. We also utilize outside training when necessary for individuals who may need to expand skills with Microsoft, CAD, and CAM software packages. We also send our inspection and quality staff to classes pertaining to quality subjects and continuous education units for our various quality systems. External classroom training at accredited outside sources has been utilized for ISO/AS internal auditing, design software, Excel, Power Point and shop safety.
We also reinvest in our employees by offering a formal apprenticeship program and tuition reimbursement so they can continue their educational pursuits. Employees benefit greatly from our generous funding of outside tuition reimbursement of up to $1,500 per year per employee.
